Democratic Alliance (DA) Leader Geordin Hill-Lewis has dismissed claims that the party prioritises service delivery in affluent neighbourhoods over poorer communities.
Hill-Lewis holds dual titles of Mayor of Cape Town and the DA's federal leader.
He was speaking at the party’s final election rally in Mamelodi, east of Pretoria, on Saturday.
He believes the party is ready to take over African National Congress (ANC)-led municipalities, accusing the former liberation movement of neglecting its people.
He maintained that the DA delivers services to all communities, regardless of race.
“There are those who say the DA is only for one race. Do not believe them because they are liars. There is only one belief and one commitment that guides me; every single child in our beautiful country, no matter their race, rich or poor, every single child in South Africa deserves the opportunity to live a good life. That is our core belief in the DA.”
